Ed's Diary

Today, 9th of March 2007

Ed gets up. He yawns and stretches his arms out. He looks like a wild bear when he does it, with stubble and long hair. Susan is still lying in bed and mumbles something with her eyes closed. Ed smiles and strokes her arm softly before he is getting up.

Ed is walking into the kitchen. He wants to make some coffee. But then he hears his kids shouting. He goes into their room and finds Salvador running around the room. Ed calls, "Hey, stop it" and tries to snatch his son. To do so, he has to run around, after his son. They are both laughing. Ed finally gets to Salvador and then takes him up in the air, placing a small kiss on his kid's cheek.

Then Ed leaves the room again and soon he has prepared breakfast. This is at half past seven. The rest of the family comes to sit down and eat. The four of them are talking vividly, stuffing food into their mouths.

God, I bet Ed is a gorgeous daddy.

At a quarter to eight Ed is leaving the house, Susan quickly giving him a kiss on the cheek. Ed turns around and waves at his family, before he is getting inside his car. He turns the keys and hears the car coming to live. He is driving for some time until he reaches the studio.

Thom is already there. Ed sees him immediately when he enters the big recording room. Thom turns around and smiles broadly, saying "Hi Ed". Ed smiles back and then hugs his friend. They rest in an embrace for a moment, talking about what they have done the night before. "I worked on the new song some more," Thom whispers and Ed answers, "I was watching TV with Susan. Some crappy film."

"That just seems like you, Ed," Thom says and releases him.

They set up the gear and then sit down at the table, waiting for the others to come. Colin arrives only ten minutes later. Then it is Phil after half an hour.

Jonny arrives ONE hour later, excusing himself, explaining he had to sort something out with Sharona.

And then they start recording, only having a break after three hours at half past twelve.

Then they go on. At four o'clock Colin decides to go home. He waves everyone goodbye. The others stay.

Jonny has worked something out and shows it to everyone proudly. Ed likes it a lot. Phil approves of it. And Thom loves it.

As usual. Ed is laughing and goes outside for a smoke. Thom is calling after him, "It will be your fault if we have to swim to the studio tomorrow!" Ed shouts back, "I wouldn't mind that."

And then they go on until ten o'clock. Ed thinks that's crazy. He still has a family to look after. Hmmmhhh... That'll be in half an hour.

I think I'll stop then.
